If you don’t have a place like this near you, re-create it on your own at home or in your studio!
Greenhouse or Botanical Gardens
An indoor garden or greenhouse is an option when looking for places to shoot indoors when the weather is not ideal for outdoor shooting. The greenery and plants provide colorful and interesting backgrounds that seem to bring more life to photos. I enjoy shooting portraits and greenery at the local Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory. There is a small admission fee and the space is open to the public, but it’s a beautifully groomed space with lots of opportunities for nice portrait and family photos.
If you do not have an indoor botanical garden or greenhouse near you, try the home & garden section. Photo 3 in the gallery below is a great example. This photo could have been taken anywhere! That is one of the reasons I LOVE seeing BTS videos… to see the surroundings and set up behind some of these amazing photos –the creativity is so inspiring!
You can also use plants and a cozy corner at home to create the same kind of look!

* As always, I would advise that if you are doing more than snapping a few selfies you connect with staff at the desired location ahead of time or upon arrival.
