This year in 2023, Shoot Spaces has begun to feature one rental space each month as a way to get out and explore some of the amazing rental spaces in and around our community. The featured space could be a venue, a studio, a short-term rental, a co-working, or a creative space. Finding and exploring rentals is what I do!
The Shoot Spaces Featured Venue for May is Icing for Izaac. While you may have heard of this boutique bakery and its tasty treats, you may not have considered them when searching for a rental space. Well, I am here to tell you, YOU SHOULD!
Icing for Izaac
Before I get into all rental basics, I would like to give you a little background on this little local bakery that I have come to love so much!
Icing for Izaac started as a way for owner Grayce Holloway to work through the loss of one of her twins and postpartum depression. I began following Grayce because I have experienced both of these heart-breaking situations and found inspiration in her ability to channel her sadness and grief into something so magnificent! And so last year, when I needed a cake for my wedding, it wasn’t difficult to choose Grayce’s little cake shop for the job. Not only was this cake simple and beautiful, it tasted delicious too! Grayce and her staff were so amazing to work with and we were ecstatic with how this cake turned out!

Icing for Izaac started out baking cakes and cookies, but now offers a wide range of sweet treats, beverages, breakfast and lunch items too. You can even order online with Toasttab, making it easy AND convenient to support this local, woman-owned business. Their cafe menu has something everyone will love!
Movin’ on Up!
If you follow the blog or the Featured Venue series, you may remember me mentioning Icing for Izaac back in March when we featured Cookspring Shared Kitchens. Grayce started out at Cookspring, creating her delicious culinary confections and growing her client base to eventually open her own shop in downtown Fort Wayne.
Icing for Izaac has grown rapidly with locals coming out to support Grayce’s bakery dream. Last year, Grayce’s dream of owning her own space came to fruition when she purchased a buidling in Airport North Office Park. After some serious reno, Icing for Izaac now has a new home as a cafe-style bake shop where you can get your cakes, cookies, and even a small bite to eat!
Renting Space
With Icing for Izaac’s new location comes the opportunity to further serve the community with an eat-in cafe, garden room, and playroom for young visitors too! You can rent the garden room of the bakery during business hours or when they are closed to the public on Sundays for private events such as birthday parties, baby showers, and other small parties. The best part of renting space at Icing for Izaac is that food is included in the rental! So next time you are looking for a small venue to rent, consider hosting your event at this cute little cafe!
