This year in 2023, Shoot Spaces has begun to feature one rental space each month as a way to get out and explore some of the amazing rental spaces in and around our community. The featured space could be a venue, a studio, a short-term rental, a co-working, or a creative space. Finding and exploring rentals is what I do!

Not Your Traditional “Venue”

When we think of venues, our minds often conjure images of elegant ballrooms, rustic barns, or picturesque beaches. But what if I told you that there’s a venue that defies convention, a place where nature’s grandeur meets the art of celebration in the most unexpected way?

Welcome to the latest Featured Venue post, where I am about to reveal an extraordinary and enchanting venue that might not be the first thing that comes to mind… Kurtz Produce and Farm. I found Kurtz Produce one year when searching for a place to buy pumpkins for my children many years ago. Over the last several years as I began my photography journey, I started to see this colorful and rustic venue in a whole new light… a photographer’s light!

Photography at Kurtz Produce

While creating a post about tips for sunflower sessions that I hosted at Kurtz, I reached out to the farm to inquire about hours and photo hours and restrictions, and much to my surprise, there were not many. Matt informed me that if we came during business hours, we were welcome to shoot in the sunflower fields. He also filled me in on Kurtz’s photography pass that provides greater access and more privacy shooting around the farm buildings and property. This is perfect for photographer’s looking to create rustic or farm-themed photos!

As a photographer, I love visiting the Kurtz farm! The farm is filled with unique opportunities for fantastic photos! My favorite time of year at Kurtz farm, though, has to be the fall. With the sunflower fields in bloom and fall decor items, corn maze, fall flowers, and produce, they have ALL the fall decor you could possibly need for decorating at home or your studio. I have purchased mums, pumpkins, and more to use for photoshoots as well.

Kurtz Farm is truly a photographer’s paradise, offering a wealth of unique rustic photo opportunities throughout the year. From the enchanting sunflower fields that bloom in the summer to the abundance of fall decor items, a picturesque corn maze, and the charming fall flowers and produce, it’s a venue that keeps on giving. The memories captured here are infused with rustic charm and the timeless beauty of nature, making Kurtz Farm the perfect backdrop for unforgettable photographs.
